The QGIS Users and Developers Conference 2019

Last week, from 4th to 10th March, the QGIS International User and Developers Conference was held in A Coruña, Spain. QGIS is one of the most important free and open source software for GIS. It offers a wide range of tools and functionalities for viewing, editing and analyzing geospatial data. Organized by the QGIS Spanish Association, the conference gathered more than 140 demanding and enthusiastic users and developers. Winter School “Spatial Simulation Modelling”, 13.-22. February 2019

Time is the most important characteristic of geospatial information: simulation extends our spatial view into the future! Simulation models help to gain a better understanding of complex, living systems. In this winter school, offered by UNIGIS Salzburg, you will get hands-on experience with the concepts and methods of spatially-explicit agent-based modelling and Cellular Automata and their applicationto explore complex systems. Every year the GIS & Remote Sensing Service (SIGTE) of the University of Girona organizes the Jornadas de SIG libre, an event of reference in the field of the free and open source technologies in the geospatial domain. UNIGIS Kathmandu – Celebrations & Events

UNIGIS@Kathmandu (Nepal) celebrated the 5th year of its inception at Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL) on 28th April, 2018. Dr. Him Lal Shrestha (Coordinator, UNIGIS Kathmandu) opened the event with a welcome note to the Board Members, UNIGIS students and module instructors. He also thanked Dr. Shahnawaz (Director, UNIGIS S/E Asia) and Dr. Jhamak Karki (Vice Principal, KAFCOL) for their presence in this event. Dr. Shahnawaz led an orientation workshop with 12 new students starting their UNIGIS MSc studies.
