Two years ago, as a result of the pandemic, we changed the format of the UNIGIS Professional introductory workshop from on-site to online. That was a big change for us as well; after all, there’s no substitute for that cozy after-work beer in a rustic guest garden on Friday evenings. But over time, we got used to it and eventually realized that not everything about an online workshop is bad. Especially the fact that it saves a lot of (travel) time and the associated costs while on the same time preventing the ecological footprint from growing was reason enough to give the online format a legitimate chance to stick around a bit longer.
Therefore, we decided to continue the online format for the introductory workshop once a year. In this way, we want to relieve the burden on all those for whom a trip to Salzburg is out of the question or only possible with difficulty out of personal or professional reasons. The other two introductory workshops in early summer and fall will of course continue to take place here in Salzburg.
The first group to benefit from this change was welcomed virtually in front of their screens in February. We wish our new participants an insightful and intersting time in their UNIGIS studies.
