About the programme:

For the GIS manager of those aspiring to leadership positions, the USC Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Leadership expandes the geospatial knowledge and skills base and provides an opportunity to build leadership skills. In the capstron course SSCI 578: The Practice of Geospatial Leadership, students build a personal leadership plan to position themselves to make high-level and strategic decisions in the geospatial field.

This programme is designed to build an actional plan for career success and can be the catalyst for long-term professional development.

The convenient online format allows you to earn your graduate certificate while you work.

Core modules:

After students tailor their academic experience to their personal career goals with a choice of three electives, they integrate their professional anda academic capabilities into a personal leadership plan in the capstone course, SSCI 578: The Practice of Geospatial Leadership.

Programme information

Led by a highly regarded faculty, the online GIST graduate programs at USC offer skills and knowledge to keep up with GIS technology and delve into exciting new territories within the GIST field, such as how to leverage geospatial intelligence to support national security, disaster response and humanitarian relief efforts.

Admission requirements:

New students applying to the online GIST Graduate Certificate program must have a B.A. or B.S. degree or its international equivalent, with a minimum 3.0 GPA (A=4.0). All coursework taken at the undergraduate level is used to calculate the GPA.
